AI Media Planner
Budget recommendations with reasons, written from the marketing mix model: a rough, directional estimate.
Built, not yet tested liveBuilt. Not yet tested against a live Anthropic API account.
Live: shipped in OrcLink's production release before this one. Built, not yet tested live: built and tested with sample data, not yet run against a live account of the vendor. Coming soon: listed, not available to connect yet.
Switching it on
- Off by default. Only the workspace owner can turn the AI agents on (AI Analyst page). They need the top plan, and the AI model key on OrcLink's server.
- HIPAA mode: they cannot be turned on until the owner records a BAA with the AI vendor (Anthropic).
- Without the agents on, the Marketing mix page still shows the planner's tables, with no AI text.
What it does
- It reads the newest finished marketing mix model of the workspace (never changes it): the summary, the best split of your weekly budget, a stress test (every response curve 20% lower) and the platform-reported return next to the model's.
- When the model itself refuses (an outdated fit, a failed holdout check, limited data, too few measurable channels), that refusal is the answer: no AI call, no recommendation.
- Otherwise the AI writes recommendations with reasons from those results; the answer passes the same number check as the Analyst.
- Every answer carries: "This is a rough estimate from a model. Test a change with a small budget first." and the model's holdout error.
Read it as
The marketing mix model is a rough, directional estimate from weekly totals, labelled modelled: not a measured return. Data-driven attribution, also modelled, is not causal either.
What leaves for the AI model
- Never a person-level row, an outcome, click, session or visitor id, a hash, a page path or contact data. A name that holds an email address or phone number is hidden.
- HIPAA mode: generic stage labels, and campaign, group and keyword names only when the owner turned on "Include campaign names in data out" (else rows by channel only).
- Every request is checked before it is sent: if anything in it looks like an email address, a phone number or a 64-character hash, nothing is sent.
- Each call to the model is logged in the audit log (vendor, purpose, size, row count; never the content).
- Channels are named c1, c2, ... in what is sent; in HIPAA mode a custom channel name is replaced unless campaign names are allowed out.
The number check
Every number in an answer must appear in the tables the model was given. An answer that fails gets one retry; if it fails again, the answer is not shown and the tables are. The tables are shown under every answer.
